The Terroir Selection Chenin Blanc is a characterful expression of the Springfontein Rim – shaped by the cool coastal climate, the lime-rich soils and the unique fynbos landscape surrounding our estate.
The grapes come from selected parcels of our estate in Stanford. The low yields, slow ripening and the grapes’ natural acidity lay the foundation for a wine of great freshness, tension and mineral precision.
On the nose the wine shows fresh fruit aromas. On the palate it combines pronounced minerality with soft acidity and a creamy texture. The fine oak notes are subtle and harmoniously integrated. A lively yet structured Chenin Blanc with beautiful length.
The grapes are hand-picked and fermented with natural yeasts. Maturation takes place in egg-shaped fermenters and French barriques. The wine is made with minimal intervention, unfiltered and only lightly sulphured.
