Eat & Drink at Springfontein

Wine and food have always gone together at Springfontein — just not in only one way. Depending on the day, and the mood, that might mean a relaxed glass at the bar, or a full evening built entirely around the table. Between ULUMBAZA Wine Bar(n) and WORTELGAT Wine Dining, there’s a version of Springfontein hospitality for both.

ULUMBAZA Wine Bar(n)

ULUMBAZA Wine Bar(n)

Our wine bar and farm kitchen, set in a 200-year-old thatched stable. Open seven days a week, no booking required — pop in for a glass, a light lunch or dinner, taste the full Springfontein and Cape Moby range, and take a bottle home if something catches you.

  • Open daily, 11h00 – 21h00
  • No reservation needed (recommended for lunch and dinner)
  • Wine tastings, à la carte Bar(n) Menu, daily blackboard specials
  • Our main cellar-door sales point
WORTELGAT Wine Dining

WORTELGAT Wine Dining

A seasonal, reservation-only wine-dining experience, where five, six or seven courses are built in dialogue with the cellar. Not fine dining in the formal sense — wine dining: a slower, more considered evening around what the kitchen and the wines can do together.

  • Booking mandatory
  • Open seasonally (closed during the off-season)
  • 5-, 6- or 7-course wine and food pairing menus
  • Thursday dinner; Friday to Monday, lunch and dinner (in season)

In short: Bar(n) for spontaneity, Wortelgat for occasion.
