Last week, Joseph, Zinhle, Tafadzwa and their entire ULUMBAZA crew finally launched the new season of our Wortelgat Wine Dining Restaurant @ Sprinfontein Wine Estate!
The high season at Springfontein has officially started. Returning guests will be familiar with the principle. Choosing a set-up between a number of 5 to 9 courses, we invite you on a culinary journey with us. A journey that is centered around our unique terroir of “Limestone Rocks!”. A journey that highlighting our unique Estate Wines of Origin Springfontein Rim.
Opening Times are Thursday dinner until Monday dinner, with both lunch & dinner services from Friday until Monday. Bookings are essential / walk-ins at own risk 😉
At Springfontein, we have always dared and loved to be different. And we are excited to continue that legacy with another season of top-quality kitchen in the historic farmhouse of Springfontein.
The nine dishes our kitchen crew has crafted for this year’s season will each on its own delight not only your palate, but each express a range of local ingredients sourced from the backlands of our farm, our own gardens, as well as selected, neighboring and befriended farms and suppliers.
Some of Joseph’s signature dishes have been reinterpreted to best express the wines they are paired with, as well as the terroir. Having tasted the menu we have no doubt that it will soon carry Wortelgat’s and Springfontein’s reputation. The 5-course menu starts at ZAR 775, whereas the optional (and highly recommended) wines that the dishes have been created around can be added for another R 150. Below we offer a preview of our full (but exemplary) menu, which will be subject to minor changes according to daily availability of products.
